Just thought I should let you guys know, for the third time, I have had blind hope/faith in your cds and immediately bought 'Better Off', solely based on your single, and I must say, I am far from disappointed. The cd is fucking awesome and excels far and beyond. 17 year-old me thought you guys could never do better than 'Hometown'. He was definitely wrong! Thank you again for an amazing cd!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you are enjoying better off!

Young Classics will be hitting radio stations nationwide tomorrow. Once we get all the stations and request lines up and running. We are going to want you to annoy the shit out of your favourite, local station. Big ups to Sonic 102.9 in Edmonton for spinning young classics a little early for their hometown boys!
Young Classics sounds amazing!!! I honestly cannot wait for the full length.
Also, you guys were taking suggestions awhile back for album titles? And I know you guys said you were using your own in the end, but that one of the comments was considered. Did you ever release which suggestion was considered? I'm just curious lol. Because I remember you saying you would release it when the official album title came out. Thanks!
The suggestion we considered was After Hours. Which we ended up using a track name on the record. Thank you for everyone that submitted names. There was some great ones in the bunch.
We are ramping up and almost done recording this album and want to get some attention back on us. Ya us! Over here! Look at me for Christ’s sake! Please retweet and reblog about our recent much music video blogs. Thank you! Can’t wait to share all this awesome music with you very soon!
It’s no surprise Andrew Usenik is always seeking the finer things in life. The finest fashions, the finest laptops, and of course fine regional cuisine. After having mastered hearts on his state of the art laptop he decided to turn his attention to all this great food around us. Now I’m not talking all that canned ham the rest of us eat. Click the link to see what his been shoving down his throat and get stoked on good eating!
So this is exciting. Starting today, Muchmusic.com is going to be posting some fancy videos about us making the new record. It is very worthwhile for you to check them out and tell your friends, because these aren’t your run of the mill flipcam clips…We got ourselves some real video geeks to edit them up and make ‘em look all professional! Seriously though, these blogs are gonna be super rad and it will give you a new look into making a record, so we hope you enjoy.
Any specific bands, or sounds, that really influenced the new album?
Speaking for myself personally I listened to alot of bands from my youth. A little 90’s influenced guitar (less distortion, bigger chords) The album itself is really upbeat a few songs touch more on the Count Yourself In side of things. Back to where we came from. It’s been a blast writing and came together really naturally.
So your album "Hometown" is what inspired me to listen to full albums. Before, I always used to just download the singles. But your album was so good as a whole that I had to find other albums that did the same after I listened to it. What's important for you guys to make sure that your albums come together as a collective art work and not just a song here, and a song there, etc.?
First of all, great question! I feel like the album as whole is becoming a bit of a lost concept. Bands seem very concerned with singles rather than having a whole complete piece of work. We all have albums we love with those “stinkers” sitting somewhere in the back half. On the other hand some albums have hidden gems hiding back there. I feel bands need to treat every song like it’s track one. It’s nice to hear bands try different things (tempos, tones, musical styles) sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. An album should have movement to it and take the listener through the ups and downs. There’s nothing worse than a front loaded album followed by 8 tracks of garbage. Those are the albums I don’t like buying therefore those are the albums I try not to make.
